Insultherm

About the range

Insultherm is a pre insulated pipe system that is used for the transportation of fluids and gases to industrial and mechanical services applications. Predominately used for buried pipework applications, it is relied on my many installers and engineers on projects across NZ and the Pacific.

Key benefits Insultherm offers include:

  • Minimize heat loss or gain during distribution. The insulation helps maintain the temperature of the air/fluid being transported through the pipes.
  • Provide a durable, weatherproof casing around the pipes to extend the lifetime and reliability of the HVAC system.
  • Reduce the overall energy consumption of the system by minimizing unwanted thermal transfer between the pipes and the surrounding ground.

The Insultherm system is made to order so clients and engineers can specify the insulation thickness they require and their preferred pipe material. We are able to assist with recommendations for insulation thickness, so please contact our team to discuss your requirement.

Advantages over copper or steel alternatives include:

  • Flexibility & Installation – easier to handle when installing and better able to accomodate ground movement and settling.
  • Corrosion Resistance – naturally resistant to corrosion and chemical degradation so overall longer service life.
  • Environmental Impact – lower carbon footprint in production and recyclable materials

Advantages

  • Dynatherm PP-RCT Pipe encased in HDPE, which is suitable for temperatures up to 85°C at a range of working pressures and combines for a host of benefits including saving energy minimising heat loss, fast installation on site, corrosion resistance and lowering maintenance costs. Commonly used for low and medium heating water supply, but suitable for glycol, chilled water and low/medium temperature lines.

  • Stream PE100 Pipe encased in HDPE, which is suitable for temperatures from -30°C to 40°C at a range of working pressures. Benefits include fast install times compared to steel, minimises temperature loss, lower maintenance costs, corrosion resistant as well as being UV resistant. Commonly used for glycol, chilled water and low temperature lines.

Endless options

Black HDPE thin wall casing or jacket is standard for most installations although other finishes are available including PVC and Aluminium casing options.

Maximum pipe length is 8 metres with joining options for Electrofusion Couplings, Socket Fusion or Butt Fusion Welding.

You’re not limited in any way when it comes to connections – from tees to reducers to offsets to bulkheads.

Fabricated Sections

UPG supply prefabricated sections from drawings to suit your project and assist to minimise the joints required onsite.

We can work with the project management team to assist with the sections that can be prefabricated in our workshop to ensure they are able to achieve their programme onsite.

All sections are pre-insulated ready to install – all part of making your job easier!
