Stockton Mine – CHPP Project

About the project

Stockton Mine – CHPP Project

UPG supplied this large project with Stream PE100 pipework for the new Coal Handling and Preparation Plant for all the slurry and tailing lines. We provided full fabrication service off-site in our workshops enabling delivery of this project, mitigating risk around QA and processes, and providing huge time savings compared to welding on-site. Technical drawings were provided to us and we fabricated all items to these measurements, ensuring flanges and sections mated together when onsite.

Stockton has accumulated stockpiles of up to 15 million tonnes of contaminated coal and will generate more as the operation continues to work through areas of historic underground mining. A prefeasibility study identified that a Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) would produce 10 million tonnes of saleable high value product from this stockpile.
