Sliding Joint - Chamber Connections
The Reinert-Ritz sliding joints are set in concrete at the chamber corbel or Manhole wall and allows the pipe to be fed through the sliding joint.
The grooved detail on the body of the fitting ensures the concrete can locate/grip the fitting in place, and the rubber puddle flange ensures a water-stop for water egress or ingress.
The PE pipe is then free to slide within the fitting, thanks to a special O ring design with the seal able to sustain hydrostatic pressures within the chamber of up to 1 bar.
The body is made from PE100 with an EPDM rubber puddle flange and elastic O-ring seal, creating a durable, high-stability system that enables pipes to be installed safely without damage or displacement.
An excellent design for NZ conditions to allow for seismic movement or ground settlement and ensure manholes and chambers remain water-tight.
Shaft lining for safe, damage-free pipe installation.
Applications
These Sliding Joints solve the practical challenge of installing and protecting pipes in shaft environments, and still enabling some pipe movement.
Use Reinert-Ritz Sliding Joints when you need:
- Consistent installations for pipe penetrations within Manholes
Safe pipe installation in shafts with floating bearing support
Protection from damage during pipe laying
Sealing against both shaft masonry and pipe surfaces
Installation flexibility (during new construction or retrofit)
High-stability lining for heavy-load supply lines
Easy pipe insertion with chamfering and lubricant options
Long-term durability in shaft environments
Simple installation without complex bracing
Cost-effective pipe protection that reduces installation labour
